The sanctuary of Asklepios, the god of healing and son of the god Apollo. The sick come here to get better. They sleep overnight in the temple and the god appears to them in a dream. He heals them or gives them advice on how to get better. The next morning one of the priests in the temple can help the sick person to carry out the god's advice.

People brought offerings with them for Asklepios. The offerings were models of the part of the body that was sore or diseased.
